Chureca Chic

Chureca Chic creates jewellery out of recycled paper while promoting women empowerment in the capital of Nicaragua. Chureca was once the biggest trash dumpsite in Central America, and when it was “professionalized,” many women and single mother’s lost their income. Earth Education Project is an NGO that sought to empower them, and it offers a learning program to prepare these women for steady income jobs. This social brand came out of this program and its sales keeps this program alive. Their designs are amazing, and the protective layer makes them durable.
